Start with the skill you are missing
If you are learning the game, use the demo page to identify the separate free edition, then practise the Guardian actions. If you already understand those, go directly to the walkthrough rather than rereading an introduction.
Restoration is not the same as permanent safety
The developer explains that scorched land advances and can reclaim restored areas. Its obstacle preview also says Malpouic flowers keep producing Malpouics. Those facts make looking behind your colony relevant, not just reaching the next visible objective.
For your own planning, ask three questions before moving: what am I trying to change, what can threaten it, and what will I check before leaving? This is editorial guidance derived from the documented systems. It does not assert a hidden timer, a fixed failure threshold or an optimal speedrun route.
Keep attempts comparable
Record the map, difficulty and game version when making notes. On the next attempt, change one approach rather than everything at once. If the problem was scattered creatures, practise handling a smaller group. If it was an unclear objective, observe the relevant obstacle before expanding the colony. These are learning suggestions, not measured guarantees.
Read the patch reference before following an older video: balancing and navigation have changed since launch. A creator succeeding on an earlier build does not establish that your current screen should look identical.
